A Palestinian man with special needs was wounded on Saturday after being shot at the entrance of Duma, a town in the West Bank's Nablus Governorate, the Palestine News Agency reported.

An Israeli defense official said the man was shot by the owner of an adjacent Israeli settlement farm and another person, who had fired "warning shots" at the Palestinian man after he had approached their settlement. When the man did not turn back following the warning shots, the two opened fire at him, at which point he was hit and later evacuated to a hospital by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, the source said.

Police said the man had arrived at the outpost holding a stone and was "behaving suspiciously," adding that the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

The shooting in Duma was one of several incidents reported in the West Bank over the past day. Palestinian media also reported settler-related incidents in two locations in the South Hebron Hills, an attack in the Bethlehem area and settler raids in the northern West Bank.

Medical officials said the disabled man, 29, was in moderate-to-severe condition after being shot in his abdomen, his left foot and right leg, and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Suleiman Dawabsha, head of the Duma village council, confirmed that the incident occurred when the young man entered the adjacent settlement outpost. Speaking to Haaretz, Dawabsha said the young man has a mental disability and that his condition was stable.

Israeli soldiers and police officers were present at the scene when the shooting took place, the Palestinian council head told Haaretz. After he was shot, soldiers cuffed the wounded man by his hands and feet and detained him for over an hour. Medical teams from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and an ambulance from the nearby village of Qaryout were prevented from reaching the location for over an hour until the wounded man was evacuated, Dawabsha added.

In the South Hebron Hills, Palestinians and peace activists reported that they were assaulted by masked Israeli settlers at the entrance to the town of Samu. According to another report, a settler armed with a rifle stopped a Palestinian car in the area of Shiʿb al-Butm, and Israel Defense Forces troops that arrived at the scene confiscated the driver's car key.

The IDF did not immediately respond to Haaretz's request for comment.

Masked settlers entered the Palestinian village of Jit, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and damaged vehicles and other property, according to Palestinian reports.

Palestinian media also reported that settlers entered agricultural land near the central West Bank village of Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah, and grazed livestock there.

Palestinian state news agency WAFA reported that settlers attacked employees of the Jerusalem District Electricity Company while they were carrying out work in the village of Wadi Rahal, south of Bethlehem in the West Bank.

According to the report, several workers sustained minor injuries and their vehicle was heavily damaged. WAFA said settler attacks in the Bethlehem area have increased in recent weeks.

On Friday, clashes broke out between Israeli settlers and Palestinians in the village of Mas'udiyah in the Nablus Governorate, after settlers grazed sheep in the area. In footage from the incident, Palestinian residents can be seen demanding that the settlers leave an olive grove they say belongs to them. Later, a settler armed with a rifle is seen at the scene.

According to the IDF, an Israeli citizen was lightly wounded by a stone thrown during the incident but did not require medical treatment. Three Palestinians were detained on suspicion of involvement in the incident and were transferred to security forces for further questioning, the army added. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that it provided medical treatment to Palestinian children wounded at the scene.

Palestinian media reported that clashes resumed in the village on Saturday after settlers returned to the area.

In a separate incident on Friday in the village of Deir Abu Mash'al, in the Ramallah area, two Palestinians were lightly wounded in clashes with settlers, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

A village resident told Haaretz that settlers established a new outpost on village land four days ago. According to the resident, security forces later removed a structure erected by the settlers, but they returned shortly afterward and have continued to consolidate the outpost.

Footage from Friday appeared to show settlers taking over an agricultural building near the outpost. Border Police officers were documented at the scene following reports of clashes between Palestinians and settlers in which, according to Border Police, people on both sides were injured. Additional footage showed Palestinian youths removing an Israeli flag from an open area nearby.
