On Thursday, Israeli authorities released seven Palestinian detainees, including two women, from the Gaza Strip, some of them displaying signs of torture.

Media sources said that the released detainees had been abducted during various periods of the nine-month-long military onslaught.

Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its ambulance crews retrieved the detainees at a military checkpoint east of the city of Deir al-Balah, before transporting them to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city.

The PRCS added that its ambulance crews provided treatment to the seven released detainees, at least two of whom showed signs of torture and abuse.

One of the released detainees, Mohammad al-Louh, stated that he was subjected to torture, severe abuse, and electric shocks in the 30 days he spent in occupation prisons.

Al-Louh also revealed that the detainees are handcuffed and blindfolded 24 hours a day, and forced to keep their heads down.

Another released detainee, Muhammad Abu Shaar, said that he was subjected to electric shocks on several occasions, in addition to severe physical abuse, sleep, and food deprivation.

Media sources said that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression against Gaza, occupation forces have abducted hundreds of Palestinian citizens during its ground invasion in the Gaza Strip.

In related news, the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), and the Addameer Foundation for Prisoner Care and Human Rights reported that at least 18 detainees have been killed in occupation prisons since October 7, 2024.

They added that dozens of detainees from the Gaza Strip have been killed inside occupation prisons and detention centers, although Israeli authorities failed to provide details regarding their identities.

It is important to mention that the Israeli army has abducted 9,800 Palestinians in the West Bank since the beginning of its military onslaught in Gaza.
