Updated: As the sun rose in the Gaza Strip on the 263rd day of Israel’s assault on the entire civilian population of 2.2 million people, at least 17 civilians were already dead — killed by Israeli airstrikes between midnight and six am on Tuesday.

Most of those who were killed and wounded were civilians targeted in an Israeli bombing of two shelter schools belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Shati’ Refugee Camp and Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City.

What had, just eight months ago, been a primary school for children to learn had been turned into a refuge for civilians whose homes had been destroyed by the Israeli military. But now, on Tuesday June 24th, 2024, in a series of pre-dawn airstrikes, it became a ruin.

At least eighteen Palestinians, most of them children and women, were killed, and dozens of others were injured, at dawn on Tuesday, in a series of Israeli military raids on separate areas in the Gaza Strip, during which two United Nations Refugee and Works Agency (UNRWA) schools-turned-shelters were targeted.

Journalist Mo’tasem Dalloul, said on his X account, that an entire family (Al-Jaro family) “was wiped out of the civil registry; father, mother, five children and their 77-year-old grandmother were the victims of the Israel bombing of Abdul-Fattah Hammoud School were the families sheltered.

The Civil Defense reported that its crews recovered five bodies, including two children, while a number of other martyrs and wounded were transported in civilian vehicles as a result of the occupation bombing of the Asma’ school, which houses displaced people in the Shati’ Camp, west of Gaza City, which caught fire.

Civil Defense crews also recovered 6 bodies as a result of the Israeli occupation’s targeting of Abdul-Fattah Hamoud School in the Jaffa area in the center of Gaza City.

In addition, civil defense crews in Gaza recovered the bodies of two women and transported a number of casualties from the Israeli targeting of the Al-Zamili family home in the Al-Sheja’eyya area, east of the city.

Furthermore, Israeli missiles and shells struck many homes and buildings in the Al-Wehda Street, in Gaza City, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinains, including women and children.

In central Gaza, the army fired a missile at a home for the Nashawi family in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, killed many Palestinains from the same family, including three children and one woman, who were burnt to death by the resulting fires.

Furthermore, several Palestinians were killed and injured when the army fired artillery shells at area in the northern and eastern parts of the Al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza; four of the slain Palestinians and many injured were moved to the Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah.

In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the army fired missiles and shells at the area of Bani Soheila junction, east of teh city, killing at least ten Palestinians and wounding twenty-two.

At least three Palestinains were killed and several others were injured when the army bombarded a home in the eastern part of Khan Younis.

The Israeli occupation targeted areas west of Rafah, in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip, with air strikes, artillery shelling, and tank fire.

Earlier tonight, a young man was killed and others were injured, as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted Tal al-Sultan, west of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 last year rose to 37,626 killed and 86,098 wounded, the majority of whom were children and women.
