NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Dozens of Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles at the Huwwara Israeli military checkpoint south of the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, on Monday evening.
A Ma'an reporter said that Israeli settlers threw rocks at Palestinian vehicles passing by the main road.
Israeli forces sealed off the checkpoint and the main road leading to the nearby illegal Israeli settlement of "Yitzhar" after dozens of Israeli settlers gathered in the area.
Better known as "price tag" attacks, extremist Israeli settlers use violent acts of retribution on Palestinians and their property to demonstrate their opposition to Israeli restrictions on settlements and their outposts in the occupied West Bank.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law, with recent announcements of settlement expansion provoking condemnation from the international community.
