HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces seized a residential trailer, construction materials and a water tank in the village of al-Samu in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron on Monday.
Palestinian security forces told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided the Wadi al-Amayer area in al-Samu and seized a residential trailer, along with the contents inside, belonging to Muhammad Khalil Abu Qbita.
Sources added that construction equipment, materials, and water tank were also confiscated without providing a reason why.
A spokesperson for Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), which is responsible for implementing the Israeli government’s policies in the occupied Palestinian territory, told Ma’an that the confiscated items were all “illegal.”
“[On Monday] an enforcement took place against illegal constructing equipment, including a confiscation of a shipping container full of construction materials and a water tank. The enforcement was carried out after all the necessary warrants were approved,” the spokesperson said.
Israeli forces regularly confiscate and demolish Palestinian structures deemed as illegal by the Israeli government, most commonly in Area C, the area of the West Bank under full Israeli security and civilian control.
