Palestinian young journalist Isra’ Salhab, presenter of Al-Ahrar (“Free People”) program on Alquds Space Station TV, was arrested by Israeli police on 16 November. Her detention was extended an additional 24 hours for “further investigation”.

Salhab’s family stated that she had received a phone call from police summoning her to the Russian Compound that afternoon. On arrival she was interrogated for two hours. Her family, waiting for her, then saw her handcuffed as she was removed from the investigation room and were informed that her detention was extended by 24 hours.

Investigators indicated that Salhab was being transferred to an intelligence prison.
In addition to presenting Al-Ahrar on Alquds Space TV, she is a mother to two children. Her husband, Shadi Zahdeh, was arrested 20 days before her and remains in detention in the Russian Compound.
