RAMALLAH (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces on Monday shot and killed a Palestinian teenager during an arrest raid in the Qalandiya refugee camp near Ramallah, Palestinian medics said.
Locals said that Israeli military vehicles raided the camp early Monday and broke into the home of Muhammad Abu Latifa, 18, in an attempt to detain him.
Israeli forces then opened fire on the teenager as he attempted to run away.
Israeli police said that Abu Latifa was shot in the leg as he was running away across a roof, then fell to his death as he tried to leap to another roof.
Israeli border police forces raided the refugee camp near Ramallah to arrest two "suspected terror activists," police said.
An Israeli paramedic attempted to treat Abu Latifa, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Other eyewitness reports said that Israeli forces took the teenager into custody despite his critical injuries and shortly after delivered his body to a Palestinian ambulance, which took him to the Palestine Medical Complex.
Abu Latifa is the 18th Palestinian killed by Israeli forces this year.
On Thursday, Israeli forces shot dead Falah Hammad Abu Maria, 53, in the southern West Bank while arresting his son.
A day earlier, Israeli forces shot and killed Muhammad Ahmad Alawneh, 21, in Jenin.

Israeli soldiers shot and killed, on Monday at dawn, a young Palestinian man in the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem, and wounded several others. Eyewitnesses said the slain man was kidnapped, before the soldiers shot him dead.
Medical sources said the slain young man has been identified as, Mohammad Ata Lafi Abu Latifa, 20 years of age.
The soldiers invaded the refugee camp during early dawn hours, and fired concussion grenades, and gas bombs at local youths, who hurled stones and empty bottles on them.
The slain man’s uncle, head of the Popular Committee on the Qalandia refugee camp Jamal Lafi, told the WAFA Palestinian News Agency that the soldiers first chased Mohammad, and shot him in the legs, as he was on his family’s rooftop.
Lafi denied the Israeli military allegations that the Mohammad fell from the rooftop while the soldiers were trying to arrest him, and said the soldiers cuffed the wounded young man with electric wires, and killed him after taking him prisoner.
Palestinian security sources also said Abu Latifa was alive when the soldiers abducted him.
The army handed Abu Latifa’s body to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society several hours after his death.
In addition, soldiers shot and injured two young men during the invasion into the refugee camp.
