[Wednesday Evening, January 15, 2014] Dozens of Israeli military vehicles invaded Beita town and Bir Qoza area, in the northern West Bank district of Nablus, and clashed with Palestinian youth who hurled stones and empty bottles at the invading forces.

Local sources in Beita town said that the invading soldiers fired rounds of live ammunition, concussion grenades and gas bombs, in addition to firing several flares while chasing dozens of youth.

The sources said that the soldiers closed the western entrance of the town, and invaded various neighborhoods.

Additional military jeeps and armored carriers then invaded the town, and forced all stores to close, before invading a coffee shop. The soldiers then dragged a resident out of the coffee shop and interrogated him.

Furthermore, soldiers imposed tighter restrictions on a number of military roadblocks south of Nablus, and obstructed Palestinian traffic while searching some cars and inspecting the ID cards of the residents.

Eyewitnesses stated that the soldiers temporarily closed the Huwwara roadblock, Za’tara roadblock and the Yitzhar roadblock, while dozens of soldiers invaded the main road of Huwwara town.

It is worth mentioning that, over the last several weeks, Israeli soldiers repeatedly invaded Beita town, and kidnapped more than thirty Palestinians.

The army alleged its invasions and arrests came after local residents hurled Molotov cocktails and stones at Israeli military jeeps and settlers’ vehicles, on the main road west of the town.
