JENIN (Ma'an) -- Israeli authorities handed warrants to ten Palestinian families from the village of Bartaa al-Sharqiyya west of Jenin demanding that they evacuate their houses on Tuesday.
Member of the local council of Bartaa Tawfiq Qabaha told Ma'an that an Israeli military force escorted inspectors of the Israeli planning department to the village Tuesday and delivered the evacuation warrants to ten families.
He said that the houses, which are located in Qur al-Dabaa, were either inhabited or completely ready to be inhabited.
The Israeli authorities, added Qabaha, has recently delivered dozens of evacuation warrants in Bartaa asking residents to leave their houses and livestock farms.
Warrants were delivered Tuesday, says Qabaha, to Muhammad Salih Qabaha, Imad Yousif Qabaha, Azzam Jabir Qabaha, Sahir Muwaffaq Qabaha, Atif Amarnah, Maamoon Ibrahim Qabaha, Abdul-Rahim Abdullah Masood, Muhammad Rifaat Qabaha, Mansour Abdullah Masood and Amir Faysal Khalouf.
Israel has destroyed more than 604 Palestinian properties in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since the beginning of this year, displacing 1,011 people, according to UNOCHA.
Israel rarely grants Palestinians permits to build in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It has demolished at least 27,000 Palestinian homes and structures since occupying the West Bank in 1967, according to the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions.
The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
