RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces arrested a youth activist overnight Tuesday in Ramallah, Addameer prisoners group said.
"Human rights defender Hassan Karajeh (29 years old) was arrested from his home last night at 2:30am by a large convoy of IOF soldiers," the group said on its social media sites.
Muhannad Karaja, a lawyer for the activist, said that Israeli forces confiscated three computers, three cellphones and took five bags of paperwork from the house.
Hassan is from Saffa village near Ramallah and is a well-known activist working on youth issues and prisoners' rights. He is also the youth coordinator for grassroots organization Stop the Wall.
His brother Muntasser is serving a 10-month sentence in an Israeli jail, and his sister Sumoud was released in 2011 as part of a swap deal between Hamas and Israel.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said that "Karaja was arrested for suspicion of involvement in a terror organization," without providing further details.
