Overnight Saturday, Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers attacked Palestinians throughout the West Bank, in what has been a daily occurrence since the second intifada began in September 2000. In addition to attacking Palestinians, Israeli paramilitary colonizers illegally detained US Congressmember Ro Khanna while he was on a diplomatic visit to the West Bank.

The following is a summary of the Israeli soldiers’ and paramilitary forces’ attacks on Palestinians on Saturday night.

Military Invasions:

Israeli occupation forces abducted four Palestinian citizens from the city of Qalqilya on Saturday evening. Local sources reported to Wafa news agency that the occupation forces abducted: Elias Al-Shanti, Adam Al-Shanti, Ahmed Saasa, and Muhammad Al-Basha, while they were near the Al-Marj area surrounded by the racist annexation and expansion wall in the eastern region of the city of Qalqilya.

Israeli occupation forces stormed and vandalized Palestinian homes in the town of Deir Al-Ghosoun, north of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank. This image shows a childrens’ bedroom ransacked by the soldiers:

Israeli occupation forces abducted Saed Khaled Badran and his son, Khaled, after storming their home in the town of Deir Al-Ghusun, north of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli occupation forces stormed a number of villages and towns in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate on Saturday night and into Sunday morning.

Security sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the villages of Kafr Nimah, Bil’in, Deir Abzi’, Ain Arik, and Kharbatha Bani Harith, west of Ramallah, the villages of Ajul and Araura, northwest of the governorate, and the town of Abwein and the village of Jaljalia, north, without reporting any abductions.

Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank:

Israeli occupation forces also stormed the city of Al-Bireh Saturday night. Local sources reported that an occupation army force stormed the city of Al-Bireh and deployed in various neighborhoods, without any abductions or raids being reported.

Israeli occupation forces abducted a Palestinian civilian while storming Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem:

Paramilitary attacks:

Three Palestinian citizens were injured Saturday night in an attack by Israeli paramilitary colonizers in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its crews transferred 3 injured people to the hospital, after Israeli paramilitary forces beat them in the town of Beita.

US Democratic Representative Ro Khanna said armed Israeli settlers detained him for more than an hour during a visit to the occupied West Bank, an incident he said gave him a direct view of the reality of the Israeli occupation and what Palestinians who live in the West Bank face on a daily basis.

Khanna explained that the incident took place during his visit to Khirbet Zanuta village in the southern West Bank, a village that has been subjected to destruction carried out by Israeli paramilitary settlers, including the demolition of the school and residents’ homes.

He added that Israeli settlers carrying US made M4 rifles surrounded the minibus he was traveling in with his aide Cameron Kasky and prevented them from leaving before Israeli forces intervened.

Later Saturday night, armed Israeli paramilitary colonists under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces attacked the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, on Saturday evening.

The head of the Al-Mughayyir Village Council, Amin Abu Alia, told Wafa news that Israeli paramilitary colonists, protected by Israeli occupation forces, attacked the village from the eastern side and tried to raid the home of citizen Muhammad Hamid Abu Alia.

Abu Alia added that the Israeli colonists grazed their sheep on citizens’ agricultural lands in the region, which led to damage to trees and crops.

Palestinian citizens were injured by live bullets, rubber-coated metal bullets, and sound bombs during an attack by the occupation army and colonists on the same house this morning, and the Israeli occupation soldiers also abducted the young man, Moamen Abdel Latif Abu Alia, during the attack.

The village of Al-Mughair and the surrounding villages and towns are subjected to continuous attacks by Israeli paramilitary colonists on citizens and their property, in addition to continuous incursions by the Israeli occupation forces.

Attacks at checkpoints:

A young man was injured today, Saturday night, as a result of an attack by the Israeli occupation forces on him at the Jalameh checkpoint, north of Jenin.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its crews took a person to the hospital with injuries resulting from an assault by Israeli occupation forces. The injured person is a young man (25 years old), who was attacked at the Jalameh checkpoint by Israeli soldiers.

Closures of checkpoints:

The Israeli occupation forces closed the Beit Iksa military checkpoint, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, on Saturday night, which led to the detention of dozens of vehicles.

Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces closed the barrier to the movement of citizens and vehicles, and prevented passage through it, which caused a traffic crisis and detained dozens of vehicles that lined up on both sides of the road waiting for it to reopen.

Throughout the night on Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces tightened their military measures at all entrances leading to the city of Ramallah, which led to a severe traffic jam and the detention of hundreds of vehicles.

Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces closed a number of the main and secondary entrances to the city, and were stationed at the Ain Sinaia checkpoint, where they subjected vehicles to careful inspections, while they continued to close the Jaba, Qalandia, and Attara checkpoints.
