On Friday, day 650 of the ongoing genocide in Gaza and Day 121 since Israel violated the mediated ceasefire agreement on March 18, medical sources in Gaza reported that at least 52 Palestinian civilians have been killed on Friday, as Israeli forces carried out airstrikes and shelling across the enclave, in addition to a one-and-a-half-year-old infant who died of malnutrition.
14 of the civilians killed were shot in the ‘gladiator arenas’ set up by the US-based Christian Zionist company GHF for Palestinians in desperate need of food.
Over 850 Palestinians have been killed at these so-called ‘aid sites’ the end of May, when ‘GHF” began its operations, shutting down the existing 400 aid distribution sites (which were themselves insufficient), and replacing them with just 4 ‘Hunger Games’ style gladiator arenas of death, where Palestinians desperate for food are forced into a small area and then shot at by snipers while they fight over small bags of flour and food.
Earlier this month, 169 relief organizations demanded a halt to the US-Israeli aid distribution mechanism led by the foundation. This followed near-daily reports of civilians killed by Israeli fire while waiting for aid near its centers.
The organizations called for a return to the UN-led aid delivery mechanism in the Gaza Strip until last March, when the occupation imposed a blockade on the Strip. The mechanism gradually allowed aid into the Strip in late May, distributing it through local organizations and networks. GHF, under the leadership of the US, has refused to do so, exacerbating an already severe crisis of Israeli-induced malnutrition and starvation of the Gazan population.
A one-and-a-half-year-old girl died on Friday due to malnutrition in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip.
Also Friday, infant Zainab Abu Haleeb was born in the grip of famine, carried by her mother, whose body was already ravaged by hunger in Gaza.
Medical sources reported that hospitals in the Gaza Strip are treating hundreds of people of all ages suffering from severe hunger and malnutrition, as they are in a state of extreme stress.
Sources indicated that 17,000 children are suffering from severe malnutrition, and that patients are also being treated for stress and memory loss resulting from severe hunger. Hospitals do not have enough beds or medicines to treat the huge number of people suffering from severe malnutrition.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five doubled between March and June, as a result of the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Jazeera reporter in Gaza, Anas Al-Sharif highlights the catastrophic situation that has reached the Gaza Strip due to the deliberate Israeli blockade and forced starvation, leaving people unable to even donate blood amidst the daily Israeli massacres on the Strip.
The Israeli military committed numerous war crimes again on Friday (details below), bombing and shelling the starved, besieged and unarmed civilian population of 2.3 million people imprisoned inside the Gaza death camp (Israel claims to be ‘targeting Hamas militants’, but the overwhelming majority of the nearly 60,000 documented killed over the past 648 days have been non-combatants, including nearly 17,000 children).
Intense Israeli shelling on several areas in the Gaza Strip began early in the morning Friday and continued through the afternoon and into the evening — as has been the case every day in Gaza since October 7, 2023 (apart from a five-day ceasefire in late November 2023, and a 51-day ceasefire from January 25th through March 18th, 2025).
The following attacks against Palestinian civilians by the Israeli military on Friday, July 18, 2025, were documented by local sources:

A citizen was also killed by Israeli occupation forces’ bullets in the Al-Jisr area near Al-Maghraqa village in the central Gaza Strip.

Eight Palestinian citizens were killed and others wounded on Friday morning in Israeli shelling of Khan Yunis city, south of the Gaza Strip.
A Wafa news correspondent reported that 5 Palestinian citizens, including 3 women and a child, were killed, and more than 20 were injured in the occupation’s bombing of displaced people’s tents in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis city.
He added that a woman and her son were killed and nine others were injured when an Israeli drone bombed Al-Hanawe School northwest of Khan Yunis. A child was also killed and others were injured in a bombing that targeted a tent housing displaced people near Al-Ard Al-Tayyiba in Mawasi, Khan Yunis.
He pointed out that other Palestinians were killed and others were injured when the Israeli occupation forces bombed the Sahloul family home near Al-Shafi’i Mosque in the western camp in Khan Yunis. Multiple Palestinians were reported wounded in an Israeli strike that hit tents sheltering displaced Palestinians near the Abu Moussa mosque, west of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupation artillery fired its shells, simultaneously with heavy gunfire on the eastern, western and northern areas of Gaza City .
Over the past 24 hours, 56 civilians were killed in the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
The ongoing Israeli war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023, has left more than 198,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and famine has claimed the lives of many, including children, as well as widespread destruction.
A number of international government officials and church leaders worldwide condemned Israel’s attack yesterday on the Holy Family Catholic Church, which killed three people and, according to church officials “almost ended in a massacre, if the bomb had hit ten minutes earlier while service was still in session.
The church was targeted 10 minutes after worshippers had left the prayer service. At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, the Holy Family Latin Church in Gaza City was bombed by the Israeli occupation forces, minutes after worshippers, including children, had left the church following Mass and prayers. The attack resulted in the killing of three citizens: Saad Issa Qustandi Salama, Fumieh Issa Latif Ayyad, and Najwa Abu Daoud, and the injury of at least 10 others, including the church’s pastor, Father Gabriele Romanelli.
Since the start of the Israeli war of extermination on the Gaza Strip on October 7,2023, hundreds of citizens have been displaced to the Holy Family Church for Latins and the St. Porphyrius Church for Greek Orthodox, after a number of their homes were destroyed by bombing and they lost their possessions, seeking safer shelter.
However, places of worship in Gaza were not spared from the occupation’s bombing and fire, as the occupation targeted two churches, the Baptist Church located inside the Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza, and hundreds of mosques in the Strip, leaving hundreds of killed worshipers.
Elias Al-Jalda, a member of the Greek Orthodox Church’s Council of Representatives in Gaza, said that the occupation forces directly targeted the main building of the Holy Family Church just 10 minutes after prayers had ended. He added, “If worshipers had been inside, we would have been witnessing a horrific massacre.”
