Following the
bombardment of the Baptist Hospital on Palm Sunday before dawn, Israeli forces continued their relentless bombardment of northern, central and southern Gaza, pounding Palestinian civilian areas and ordering civilians to again move from one area to another, leaving them no respite and no safe place to go in the devastated coast enclave, surrounded by Israeli military forces on all sides.

Two citizens were killed and others injured on Sunday evening, as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting a camp in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Wafa news correspondents reported that five citizens were injured as a result of the Israeli occupation forces’ shelling of a workshop in the Asqaula area, southeast of Gaza City.
In the same context, the Israeli occupation authorities forced residents of several neighborhoods in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, to evacuate on Sunday evening under the threat of bombing.
The Israeli occupation authorities demanded that thousands of citizens in the neighborhoods of Qizan al-Najjar, Qizan Abu Rashwan, al-Salam, al-Manara, al-Qurain, Ma’an, al-Baten al-Sameen, Jouret al-Lut, al-Fakhari, and the southern neighborhoods of Bani Suhaila leave immediately, in preparation for bombing the neighborhoods. The families were ordered to move west to the known shelters in the al-Mawasi area (the same area that is currently being targeted by Israeli airstrikes).

A Palestinian citizen was killed and others were injured on Sunday evening when Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a group of citizens in Al-Sultan neighborhood in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip.
Earlier today, 14 civilians were killed and others injured after Israeli airstrikes targeted areas in Jabalia and Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have launched an aggression against the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 50,944 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 116,156 others. This is a preliminary toll, with a number of victims still under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
On Sunday, Palestinian Minister Samah Hamad, head of the government’s operations room for emergency interventions in the southern governorates, warned of the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.
The statement indicated that 90% of essential supplies, including food, water, fuel, and medicine, are on the verge of running out, in light of the complete closure of crossings and the prevention of the entry of relief supplies since the beginning of March.
Hamad confirmed that the indiscriminate shelling has led to an increasing number of killed and wounded, and continued displacement and suffering in various areas of the Gaza Strip.
He called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, stressing the government’s commitment to its responsibilities toward Gaza, including the payment of Palestinian civil employees’ salaries despite the Israeli deductions that are increasing monthly – and are now set at a 100% taxation rate. He noted that the Palestinian Authority allocates $75 million from the clearance revenues monthly to support Gaza, while the Israeli occupation deducts an equal amount in an attempt to pressure for separation between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank .
In this context, the operations room hosted the head of the Retirement Authority, Majed Al-Helou, who emphasized that the current priority is supporting Gaza. He explained that the Authority continues to pay the salaries of 36,000 retirees, overcoming numerous obstacles to facilitate their access to their rights.
Al-Helou announced a halt to loan deductions since the beginning of the war, and the allocation of 150,000 shekels as support for affected retirees.
For his part, the Director General of the Coastal Water Utility, Munther Shablaq, warned of the deteriorating health situation in the Gaza Strip due to the shortage of potable water. He noted that the per capita water quota has dropped to just 3 liters per day, increasing the risk of disease outbreaks.
Shablaq explained that more than 80% of water and sanitation facilities were destroyed, and that 15 of the authority’s employees were killed during the 18 months of aggression. He called for permission to bring in the equipment necessary to operate the desalination plants.
Under these circumstances, members of the operations room from within the southern governorates expressed their concern about the spread of epidemics, waste, and stray animals in neighborhoods and among tents. They called for urgent solutions to the health and environmental situation, as well as addressing the crisis of damaged currency and the disruption of electronic payment services.
The Operations Room commended the role of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its partners in supporting relief efforts, calling for further cooperation to secure clean water and address the worsening solid and medical waste crisis.
