Israeli airstrikes targeted, before dawn on Sunday, the Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, in the northern besieged Gaza Strip, after forcing patients and staff to evacuate.

WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes fired two missiles at the Baptist Hospital, causing severe damage to the reception building, leading to fires in the reception area, the Emergency department, the laboratory, and the pharmacy.

Eyewitnesses stated that minutes before the airstrike, the occupation army issued a threat that they would target the hospital, forcing patients and staff to evacuate.

Sources added that as a result of the Israeli attack, the Baptist hospital has been rendered out of service, while the entire health sector is near collapse.
For its part, the Palestinian Health Ministry denounced the Israeli bombing of the Baptist Hospital, and urged all international institutions to intervene to protect Gaza’s health sector, and to halt the ongoing violations against health facilities.

The Arab 48 News website reported that an injured Palestinian child died before dawn on Sunday, while evacuating the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced that the Israeli occupation is operating with American cover and complicity, stating that “This brutal crime confirms once again that we are facing a criminal entity that has violated all laws, regulations, and human norms.”

Hamas called the attack “a new war crime committed by its fascist army,” holding the United States fully responsible for Israel’s brutal attack against the Baptist Hospital.

There are still patients INSIDE the Baptist hospital. Reception area, surgical war & oxygen plant are destroyed. Electricity has gone off. ICU patients are without recourse. Palestinians in Gaza City & N Gaza are WITHOUT a hospital now. There is fear of renewed Israeli strikes

Israel is bombing Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, the last functioning medical facility in the city. It has taken note of the response of its Western sponsors and allies to its recent summary execution of 15 medical workers, and correctly interpreted the absence of any meaningful reaction as a license to do as it pleases, with no restraint and no consequences.

Breaking: Israel bombed the main operations building of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in #Gaza a two-story facility housing surgery, ICU, and the oxygen station. This hospital is the last central medical center in Gaza City after the destruction of Al-Shifa and northern hospitals.

The strike came just 18 minutes after a warning, leaving no time to evacuate civilians or rescue equipment. This wasn’t about military targets it was a calculated blow to Gaza’s last lifeline.

What’s unfolding is not warfare
It’s extermination

Brutal Israeli carpet bombings now in north Gaza, its 2:00 a.m. local and Israeli army is also threatening to bomb Al-Ahli hospital (what’s left of it).

This is the same hospital Israel bombed October 17 2023 where hundreds of Palestinians, including patients, elderly, wounded, and kids were killed in the bombing.

Israel just bombed Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, where American orthopedic surgeon Samer Attar - who did a @60Minutes episode about #Gaza last week - is working. It's the second time in 20 days that an American surgeon has almost been killed by Israel in a hospital in Gaza (I was almost killed at Nasser Hospital on March 23).

you can end this insanity instantly if you want to.

Israeli Army Says It Struck Hamas Command and Control Center in Gaza's Al-Ahli Hospital

No casualties were reported in the strike ■ Medical officials in Gaza say 7 were killed in a separate incident in Deir al-Balah

The Israel Defense Forces struck on Sunday morning one of the buildings of Gaza's Al-Ahli Hospital. According to local reports, two missiles were fired at the building, causing damage. The Israeli army said the building targeted in the strike was used by Hamas as a command and control center.

According to Lebanon's Al Mayadeen news channel, affiliated with Hezbollah, the attack caused a power outage throughout the hospital. Al Jazeera reported that fires broke out in several hospital departments as a result of the attack.

Health officials at the hospital reportedly evacuated the patients from the building after one person said he received a call from someone who identified himself as an Israeli security official shortly before the strike. No casualties were reported, according to Gaza's civil emergency service.

The military and Shin Bet security agency "struck a command and control center used by Hamas in the Al Ahli Hospital in northern Gaza," the IDF said in a statement. "The compound was used by Hamas terrorists to plan and execute terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.

Also on Sunday, medical officials in Gaza reported that seven bodies were retrieved from a vehicle following an airstrike on al-Rashid Street, which runs along the Gaza Strip's coast.

According to local reports and witness testimonies, the car was struck by an Israeli drone near a water desalination plant in Deir al-Balah, with the seven bodies being taken to the city's Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital. The IDF and Shin Bet later said they had "struck a Hamas command and control center," adding that "numerous Hams terrorists were operating from within the compound."

Additionally, reports surfaced overnight into Sunday claiming that Mohammed Darbashi, who served as Hamas' police chief in west Khan Yunis, was killed in an IDF strike.

The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem – serving as the Anglican jurisdiction for Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon – issued Sunday a statement, saying it was "appalled" at the Israeli airstrike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza hours earlier, "for the fifth time since the beginning of the war."

"The Diocese of Jerusalem condemns in the strongest terms today's missile attacks on the Ahli Arab Hospital, an institution run by the Anglican Church in Jerusalem," the statement read. According to the statement, the strike caused "collateral damage to the surrounding buildings, including the church building of St. Philip's."

Saying the strike happened "a mere 20 minutes" after "the Israeli army ordered all patients, employees and displaced people to immediately evacuate the hospital premises," adding that they "thank God that there were no injuries or deaths as a result of the bombing," with the exception of a "child who previously suffered a head injury [and] tragically died as a result of the rushed evacuation."
