This is Hossam’s team, and we are sharing his final message :
“If you’re reading this, it means I have been killed—most likely targeted—by the Israeli occupation forces. When this all began, I was only 21 years old—a college student with dreams like anyone else. For past 18 months, I have dedicated every moment of my life to my people. I documented the horrors in northern Gaza minute by minute, determined to show the world the truth they tried to bury. I slept on pavements, in schools, in tents—anywhere I could. Each day was a battle for survival. I endured hunger for months, yet I never left my people’s side.
By God, I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now, I am finally at rest—something I haven’t known in the past 18 months . I did all this because I believe in the Palestinian cause. I believe this land is ours, and it has been the highest honor of my life to die defending it and serving its people.
I ask you now: do not stop speaking about Gaza. Do not let the world look away. Keep fighting, keep telling our stories—until Palestine is free.”
— For the last time, Hossam Shabat, from northern Gaza.

On Monday, the Israeli army continued bombing and shelling various parts of the devastated Gaza Strip, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians, including two journalists, children, and women.
Media sources reported that the army fired a missile at a home belonging to the Najjar family in the Qizan Najjar area, south of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip’s southern region, killing four Palestinians and wounding many others, including children and women.
The sources added that another Palestinian was killed, and many were injured, when the army fired a missile at a home in the center of Khan Younis.
Additionally, many Palestinians were injured in an Israeli bombing targeting tents housing displaced families in the Baten as-Sameer area, west of Khan Younis.
Furthermore, the army killed five Palestinians, including journalist Husam Shbat, and injured many others after firing a missile at a car in northern Gaza.
Another journalist, Mohammad Mansour, was killed when the army fired a missile at a home south of Khan Younis; many Palestinians were injured.
In addition, three Palestinians, including a child, were killed and at least ten injured when the army bombarded a home in Beit Lahia shortly after declaring new evacuation orders in Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia in northern Gaza.
The army also fired artillery shells at homes in the Salam area, east of Jabalia, in northern Gaza.
In Rafah, located in Gaza’s southernmost region, the army fired artillery shells at homes in the Mosbeh area, causing several injuries.
Palestinian medical sources reported that the Israeli army killed more than 60 Palestinians and injured dozens more, including many children and women, across the Gaza Strip on Monday.
Since Israel resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, the Israeli army has killed more than 730 Palestinians and injured at least 1,400, mostly children and women, after bombarding homes, tents of displaced families, and hospitals across the coastal enclave.
Israel has now killed at least 50,021 Palestinians and injured more than 113,274, mostly children, women, and elderly, in addition to over 18,000 who remain missing, largely under the rubble across the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023.
