Israeli forces re-invaded, on Thursday morning, the city of Tulkarem and the Tulkarem refugee camp, in the northwestern part of the West Bank, besieging two hospitals and invading citizens’ homes.
At dawn Thursday occupation forces withdrew from the city of Tulkarem after a four day long assault, only to return just hours later and besiege two hospitals.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers re-stormed Tulkarem city and the Tulkarem refugee camp, on Thursday morning, accompanied by two bulldozers, after withdrawing just hours earlier.
Sources added that the army surrounded both the Al-Israa Specialized Hospital and Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital and impeded the work of ambulance crews, searching and interrogating them.
Infantry units were deployed in the streets and alleys, while sharpshooters occupied the rooftops of citizens’ homes and turning them into observation points.
Soldiers surrounded the Tulkarem refugee camp and invaded many homes while military bulldozers razed the streets and infrastructure of the camp, and the sound of gunfire and explosions could be heard.
Soldiers broke into several homes in the Al-Salam neighborhood in the Tulkarem refugee camp, detained their owners, and subjected them to interrogation.
The Israeli military incursion caused chaos in the Tulkarem city center and the Shweika roundabout, in the northern part of the city.
Media sources said that a traffic crises ensued, while occupation forces chased vehicles, imposed a curfew, and ordered commercial shop owners to close their doors.
Sources added that the soldiers fired concussion grenades and tear gas canisters at citizens, stopping and searching many citizens, and inspecting their ID cards.
