The Director-General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Ismael Thawabta, said in a statement to Anadolu Agency: “The Israeli occupation deliberately commits massacres against Palestinian children in Gaza in a clear and significant manner, where the number of child martyrs has now exceeded 16,480,” and added that “Israel deliberately commits massacres against Palestinian children.”

He also said: “Among these are 115 infants who were born and killed during the war, including 53 males and 62 females, with 7 from the Northern Governorate, 26 in the Gaza Governorate, 62 in the Central Governorate, 11 from Khan Younis, and 9 in the Rafah Governorate.”

The official clarified that 35 children have died due to starvation and malnutrition since the beginning of the onslaught, warning that 3,500 children in the sector face the risk of death due to hunger and malnutrition because of the ongoing Israeli restrictions and the war.

Also, due to the ongoing attacks and the Israeli restrictions that violate international laws, Palestinians in Gaza, especially in the northern areas, suffer from a severe shortage of food, water, and medicine supplies.

“More than17,000 children live without one or both parents after they were brutally killed by Israeli occupation forces, since October 7th.” Thawabta clarified, “The Israeli occupation has carried out field executions of fathers and mothers in front of their sons and daughters, without any consideration for their psychological state and their young age.”

Over the past months, human rights institutions and United Nations organizations have warned of the psychological effects reflected on children due to the continuation of the war.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the Israeli army committed three massacres of families in the Gaza Strip, on Monday, killing and wounding hundreds of Palestinians, among them 40 slain Palestinians and 134 injured, who were moved to medical centers.

Israel has now killed at least 40.139 and injured more than 92.743, mostly children, women, and elderly, in addition to the thousands of Palestinians who remain under the rubble, or on destroyed streets and in bombarded alleys across the coastal enclave, since October 7, 2023.
