Despite a ceasefire implemented Sunday morning, Israeli forces continue to violate the terms of the ceasefire on a daily basis.
On Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces opened fire on the beach of Gaza City and Salah al-Din axis in the southern Gaza Strip. According to Wafa, Israeli occupation navy boats fired three shells off the coast of Gaza City.
The Israeli occupation forces also opened fire in the vicinity of Al-Firdaws area on the Salah al-Din “Philadelphia” axis, south of Rafah Governorate.
The Israeli occupation continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which came into effect last Sunday, by directly targeting Palestinian citizens, a number of whom were killed during the past three days, and others were injured.
Over the past 24 hours, 54 bodies arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip, 53 of whom had their bodies recovered, and a citizen died of his injuries, and 19 injuries arrived at hospitals, as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours.
Medical sources announced today, Wednesday, that the death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 47,161 martyrs, most of them children and women, since the beginning of the Israeli occupation aggression on October 7, 2023 .
The sources added that the number of injuries has risen to 111,166 since the beginning of the aggression, while thousands of victims are still under the rubble .
The sources explained that a number of victims are under the rubble and on the roads, and the ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them .
The Palestinian Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported that its teams have retrieved 162 bodies of Palestinians from under the rubble of homes and buildings targeted by the Israeli occupation across various areas of the Strip since the ceasefire last Sunday.
Meanwhile, a delegation from the Red Crescent Society’s Ambulance and Emergency Department began making the necessary arrangements to receive the second batch of prisoners from the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, who are expected to be released next Saturday.
The Palestinian Authority stated that the prisoners are national symbols of our people’s steadfastness and struggle in the face of the occupation, stressing the importance of providing all efforts to ensure a reception worthy of their sacrifices in coordination with all relevant authorities, especially sick prisoners who need special medical care in light of the policy of deliberate medical killing to which they are exposed.
The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education signed a cooperation agreement with the Bank of Jordan and Think Palestine Association to support students’ enrollment in the educational process in the Gaza Strip. The agreement, with the support of the bank, will enable 500 children (aged 5-9 years) to enroll in a supportive educational program that includes the basic subjects (Arabic, English, and mathematics) .
All of the schools in Gaza were destroyed during past fifteen months of Israeli bombardment.
