On Thursday, Day 153 of the Israeli ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continued its bombing of the densely populated region, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinians, including women and children.
Israeli Missiles killed 35 Palestinians, including children and women, when the army targeted homes in the Al-Hasayna area, west of the Nusseirat refugee camp, and in Deir Al-Balah City, in central Gaza.
In Rafah, in the southmost part of the Gaza Strip, the army fired a missile at a home in the Al-Jenina neighborhood, causing several casualties.
The army also killed at least three Palestinians and wounded more than fifteen when Israeli tanks fired shells at dozens of residents awaiting aid trucks at the Kuwait Junction, north of Gaza City.
The attack came just a few days after the army killed and injured dozens of Palestinians, waiting for aid trucks at the same junction, while trying to get anything they could to feed their starving families, which also took place shortly after the army killed eight Palestinians and injured many others when the Israeli soldiers bombed a small truck carrying humanitarian supplies in Deir Al-Balah, in central Gaza.
Al-Jazeera English said that, according to government officials, NGO staff, and humanitarian workers, Israel has “consistently and groundlessly blocked all aid efforts while the Gaza Strip falls deeper into famine,” with more than 20 Palestinians, including children, have already died from malnutrition and dehydration.
While mediated talks are trying to bridge the gaps between the Israeli demands and the demands of the resistance in Gaza, to reach a temporary ceasefire deal before Ramadan, the obstacles remain vast, especially since Israel is refusing, among many things, the return of the Palestinians to northern Gaza, because “there is still presence of Palestinian fighters there.”
The United States, which vetoed and has been rejecting all efforts to reach a ceasefire, said that it is preparing a six-week ceasefire resolution to present to the United Nations Security Council.
On Wednesday, James McGoldrick, UN Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim for the Occupied Palestinian Territory on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, warned of “serious acute malnutrition” in northern parts of Gaza.
“I do believe that conditions that people face in the north — lack of access to clean water and sanitation, lack of adequate health care, and lack of food supplies on a regular basis — especially target some of the people who are the most vulnerable,” McGoldrick told reported in a virtual meeting after a two-day visit to Gaza.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the Israeli army killed at least 83 Palestinians and injured 143, in several parts of the Gaza Strip in just 24 hours and added that many victims remain under the rubble.
Israel has now killed at least 30.800, Palestinians, and injured 72.298, mostly women, children, and seniors, in several parts of the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023.
According to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitors, as of March 5, the total number of slain Palestinians is 39.178, including 14.622 children, 8.896 women, 132 journalists, 325 healthcare workers, and 42 Civil Defense workers. (The numbers include those under the rubble)
Euro-Med added that Israel destroyed 106.000 homes, partially damaged 250.900 homes, destroyed or damaged 175 media centers, damaged 432 schools, destroyed 199 heritage sites, destroyed 2.120 industrial facilities, and damaged 621 mosques and 3 churches.
