Israeli soldiers shot and killed, on Monday afternoon, a Palestinian man at the “Anabta” military roadblock, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, and later injured two young men in the town of Qaffin northeast of the city.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the General Authority for Civil Affairs informed it of the death of Fares Mahmoud Abdullah Khalifa, 37, at the hands of the Israeli forces.
Media sources said that occupation troops opened fire with live ammunition at the young man, who is a citizen of the Nur Shams camp, east of Tulkarem.
They added that the army denied the bleeding man medical treatment by blocking ambulance crews from reaching him, causing him to succumb to gunshot wounds inflicted on him by Israeli soldiers.
According to the Ma’an News Agency the slain man was a member of the Preventive Security Service with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Quds Press reported that he was a former prisoner and the brother of slain former prisoner, Faris Khalifa who was killed in Gaza during the current military onslaught which has killed 24,100 Palestinians and and injured 60,834.
In related news, on Monday evening, Israeli forces invaded the towns of Qaffin and Zeita northeast of Tulkarem.
Media sources said that occupation forces opened heavy fire with live rounds in the town of Qaffin, shooting a young man in the back, causing critical injuries, and a 21-year-old Palestinian man in the thigh; they were transported to hospital for treatment.
Earlier Monday, occupation soldiers killed two Palestinians, including a young woman, and shot at least nine others in Doura town, southwest of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
