Four Palestinians were killed by the IDF on Tuesday in separate incidents across the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Raed Ana'asan was shot in his chest by Israeli soldiers, in the village of Al-Mughayyir near Ramallah. His father and uncle are members of the Palestinian Security Services, Haaretz learned.
Ana'asan was shot, according to the Israeli army spokesperson, after he hurled a Molotov cocktail at soldiers who were serving demolition orders for illegal buildings in the village. The spokesperson said that dozens of Palestinians threw rocks at the soldiers, lightly wounding one.
On Tuesday morning, 22-year-old Palestinian Jawad Al-Rimawi and his 21-year-old brother Thafer were killed in Kafr Ein near Ramallah by IDF fire, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The IDF said it is investigating their deaths, while a general strike has been called across the Ramallah area in mourning.
Mahmud Arfai, head of the Kafr Ein council told Haaretz that the brothers were in the area with other youngsters when clashes developed with the military forces who entered the village.
According to the testimonies of other young people at the scene, one of the brothers was shot in the pelvis and his brother tried to rescue him. He approached him but was then shot in the chest and fell. Both were taken to the hospital in Ramallah where they were pronounced dead.
Hussein Al-Sheikh, the secretary general of the Palestine Liberation Organization's Executive Committee, called the incident "an awful crime" and "execution in cold blood is fascist behavior for their forces."
Hours earlier, a Palestinian man – Mufeed Mohammad Al-Khalil – was killed and at least eight others were injured on Monday night in clashes with the Israeli Defense Forces in the West Bank.
Two Israeli military Jeeps carrying reservist soldiers broke down during a training exercise. While the soldiers were waiting for a backup team to evacuate them and their vehicles, disturbances broke out in the nearby Palestinian village of Beit Ummar, some 11 kilometers from Hebron, and residents pelted the soldiers with rocks.
In response, the soldiers opened fire on the protestors. According to a report from the Palestinian Red Crescent, several people were hit by live fire. One of them sustained serious injuries, after being hit in the chest, and was later pronounced dead.
