Description
On Tuesday, the Israeli forces started to raze large areas of lands in al-Issawiya, Central of Jerusalem. They also arrested 14 Palestinians from Palestine's governorates.
Locals said that the Israeli forces arrested three citizens from Hwarah village in Nablus, five from Qalandiya village in Jerusalem, and four others from Tqou' village in Bethlehem.
Bulldozers and vehicles which belong to the Israeli authorities, started to raze large areas of the citizens' lands in al-Issawyiah village, central Jerusalem, to build Talmud Parks after the decision that was issued to confiscate these lands.
The media spokesman of al-Issawyiah committee, Raed Abu Riyalah al-Issawy, said that three bulldozers, accompanied by intensive military guards, started to raze the Palestinians' lands, and forbade the owners from reaching their lands. Huge trucks also started to move the soil of these lands, to unknown locations.
He also said that the bulldozers and vehicles are constructing 2000 to 3000 cubic meters of bulk earthworks, to separate the citizens' houses from their lands that the Israeli forces confiscated. Israeli forces want to build "National parks" that link al-Issawiyah with the nearby area Jabal al-Zaytoun neighbourhood, to extend and increase settlements in Jerusalem.
Al-Issawiyah locals started to gather in the area, in the middle of Israeli military reinforcements. The situation in al-Issawiyah is expected to escalate, due to the tension and resentment among the people.
