BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained four Palestinians from areas across the occupied West Bank, on predawn Friday.
Israeli forces raided several towns and villages across the West Bank; one Palestinian was detained by Israeli forces, while driving his vehicle by the Maale Adumim illegal Israeli settlement east of Jerusalem in the central West Bank.
The Israeli army said that the Palestinian, 30, who is from the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, was allegedly transferring thousands of shekels to the Hamas movement.
Locals reported that Israeli soldiers raided several homes in the Hizma town, northeast of East Jerusalem.
During raids in Hizma, Israeli forces searched houses and detained one Palestinian identified as Ammar Abed Rabbu.
Israeli forces also detained two Palestinians, during a raid to the al-Mughayyar village in eastern Ramallah, after raiding and searching their homes.
Locals identified the two detainees as Muhammad Nidal Abu Alia and Amer Atef Abu Alia.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,554 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
Israeli raids into Palestinian towns and villages are near daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
