HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least three Palestinians on Sunday from Beit Ummar village in the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron.
According to local sources, large numbers of heavily armed Israeli forces raided several neighborhoods in Beit Ummar village and broke into a number of Palestinian homes.
Sources confirmed that Israeli forces detained three Palestinians, who were all former prisoners. They were identified as Wasim Muhammad Abu Marya, 18, Hamza Samir Abu Marya, 19, and Muhammad Ayyesh Abu Hashem, 20.
The reason for their detention remained unknown.
Israeli raids into Palestinian towns and villages are near daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,820 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
