NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli settlers set fire to a Palestinian home and destroyed another in the Khillet al-Wusta area, located between the two villages of Jalud and Qusra, south of the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, on Friday.
Ghassan Daghlas, an official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told Ma'an that Israeli settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Yesh Kodesh attacked several Palestinian homes in Khallet al-Wusta area, set fire to one home and destroyed another.
Daghlas confirmed that the Israeli settlers uprooted dozens of trees surrounding the area and continued to commit vandalism to Palestinian property.
He added that Israeli settlers fired several times at Palestinian residents, who attempted to prevent the settlers from carrying out such acts of vandalism, forcing them out of the area.
No injuries were reported.
The fires caused extensive damages in the Palestinian home.
Israeli settlers from the illegal Yesh Kodesh settlement regularly attack Palestinians in nearby villages, including Jalud, targeting their lands. Many of the attacks are committed in order to force out Palestinian residents from the area and to allow Israeli settlers to expand their settlements.
Many Palestinian activists and rights groups have accused Israel of fostering a "culture of impunity" for Israelis committing violent acts against Palestinians.
Known as "price tag" attacks, extremist Israeli settlers use violent acts of retribution on Palestinians and their property to demonstrate their opposition to Israeli restrictions on settlements and their outposts in the occupied West Bank.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law, with recent announcements of settlement expansion provoking condemnation from the international community.
