BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 16 Palestinians, and confiscated weapons and money during predawn raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.
In the al-Khader town of the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained five Palestinians; they were identified as Ahmad Odeh Issa, Mussab Abu Aamus, Wajdi Moussa, Karam Sbeih and Muhammad Midhat Issa.
In the same district, two Palestinians were detained from Bethlehem City and identified as Muhammad Khalid al-Sheikh and Rami Salim al-Rafati.
In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, Israeli forces detained another four Palestinians; they were identified as Luay Taysir Dweikat, Abdullah Walid Khreiwish, Taha al-Titi, and former prisoner Ahmad Amer Nassar.
Names of other detainees were not immediately identified.
An Israeli army spokesman said that Israeli forces confiscated weapons and dozens of thousands of shekels during the raids.
The money was found and confiscated in the house of Sufian Zaki Bahr in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, according to the army.
Clashes broke out between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces in the Abu Shukheidim village in the central West Bank district of Ramallah, and the Jerusalem Street south of Ramallah City.
Locals said that Palestinian youths surrounded Israeli forces throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at them, forcing soldiers to call in reinforcement to the village.
Tensions increased when Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber-coated bullets and tear-gas bombs at the youths.
Clashes also broke out in the northern West Bank district of Nablus.
Israeli detention raids in the occupied Palestinian territory are a near-daily occurrence.
According to Palestinian prisoners rights group Addameer there are 5,900 Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons.

Israeli soldiers abducted, overnight until early morning hours Tuesday, at least sixteen Palestinians, including one woman, from their homes, in several parts of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported.
The PPS office in Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, said the soldiers invaded Deir al-‘Asal village, west of Doura town, searched homes and abducted one woman, identified as Ferial ad-Darwish, 42.
Dozens of soldiers also invaded Abu Shkheidim village, north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades at protesters, who hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at the armored military jeeps.
Media sources in the village, said the soldiers called for reinforcements, and started breaking into homes and ransacking them, in addition to firing gas bombs into many homes.
The soldiers also invaded and searched homes in Bethlehem, Nablus, and other Palestinian communities, in addition to confiscating thousands of shekels from the home of Sofian Zaki Bahar, in Hebron.
The Israeli army confirmed its soldiers have arrested sixteen Palestinians; one of them is a former political prisoner, identified as Ahmad Amer Nassar, and confiscated thousands of Shekels from many homes, in addition to reportedly locating weapons.
At the time of this report, twelve of the abducted Palestinians have been identified as:
1. Ferial ad-Darwish, Deir al-Asal – Hebron.
2. Luay Taiseer Dweikat – Beita, Nablus.
3. Abdullah Walid Kharyoush – Beita, Nablus.
4. Taha at-Teety, Nablus.
5. Ahmad Amer Nassar – Madama, Nablus.
6. Mohammad Khaled Sheikh, Bethlehem.
7. Rami Salim Rafati, Bethlehem.
8. Mohammad Medhat Issa, al-Khader – Bethlehem.
9. Ahmad Odah Issa, al-Khader – Bethlehem.
10. Mos’ab Abu ‘Ammouss, al-Khader – Bethlehem.
11. Wajdi Mousa, al-Khader – Bethlehem.
12. Karam Sbeih, al-Khader – Bethlehem
