BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained at least nine Palestinians during predawn raids carried out across the occupied West Bank on Thursday.
According to local sources, Israeli forces raided several neighborhoods in the central and northern West Bank, where clashes broke out between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian youths; no injuries were reported.
The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) confirmed that two Palestinian minors were detained from the Silwan neighborhood in the central West Bank district of Jerusalem, under the pretext of throwing stones at Israeli settlers in the neighborhood.
The two minors were not immediately identified.
In the Deir Abu Mashaal village in the central West Bank district of Ramallah, one Palestinian was detained and identified as Muhammad Fayiz Atta.
In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, another Palestinian was detained and identified by PPS as Muhammad Darwish.
In the Tulkarem district in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces detained two Palestinians; they were identified by PPS as Fares Mustafa Khassib, 36, and Rami Shilbayeh, 35.
In the northern West Bank district of Salfit, three Palestinians were detained and identified as Mustafa Yacoub Assi, Bahjat Rafe Marie, Lutfi Hatem Rayan.
According to Palestinian prisoners rights group Addameer, as of July, there are 5900 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons, 291 of whom are child prisoners, and 49 are under the age of 16.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers abducted, on Thursday at dawn, at least seven Palestinians from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said the soldiers fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs at Palestinians protesting the invasions, especially in Jenin city, Hizma and Deir Abu Mashal towns in Ramallah, Sebastia town near Nablus, and Tulkarem, in addition to Qaffin and Qarawat Bani Hassan in Salfit.
The PPS identified the abducted Palestinians as:
Mohammad Fayez Ata, Deir Abu Mashal – Ramallah.
Mohammad Darwish, Sebastia – Nablus.
Fares Yousef Khaseeb, 36, Tulkarem.
Rami As’ad Shelbaya, 35, Tulkarem.
Mustafa ‘Aassi, Qarawat Bani Hassan – Salfit.
Bahjat Rafe’ Mer’ey, Salfit.
Lutfi Hatem Rayyan, Salfit.
