GAZA CITY (Ma’an) -- One Palestinian was killed and another was injured as Israeli forces launched an airstrike targeting an alleged site of the Hamas movement’s military wing in eastern Gaza City overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
Spokesperson of the Gaza Ministry of Health, Ashraf al-Qidra, confirmed that Muhammad Ahmad Ayish Hjeileh, 30, was killed. The identity of the second injured Palestinian remained unknown.
The Israeli army confirmed in a statement that its forces carried out airstrikes targeting a Hamas military site in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli news website Ynet reported that the strike was carried out in retaliation for bullets fired from the Gaza Strip that landed on an Israeli home, causing minor material damage to the roof of a home.
The deadly strike came hours after another strike east of Gaza City on Wednesday morning that left one Palestinian injured.
