HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces carried out predawn military raids in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, before dawn on Sunday, detaining at least 11 Palestinians.

Locals in the town of Bani Naim east of Hebron city in the southern occupied West Bank said that Israeli troops raided the town after midnight, ransacking several homes, before detaining 17-year-old Ahmad Nafiz al-Tarayra and Hani Abd al-Wahhab al-Khudour.

In Hebron city, Israeli forces detained also detained local Baraa Dufish after breaking into his home.

In the southern occupied West Bank district of Bethlehem, Israeli forces detained 19-year-old Muhammad Issa Hamamra and Sanad Muhammad Hamamra, also 19, from the town of Husan.

An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the detentions in Bani Naim, Hebron city, and Husan, and also told Ma'an that four Palestinians were detained in the town of al-Zababida in the northernmost West Bank district of Jenin.

Meanwhile, Israeli police spokesperson Luba al-Samri reported in a written statement that two Palestinians were detained in al-Tur neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem. She said they were suspected of involvement in "riots" that took place recently in the area.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with a biweekly average of 85 search and detention raids carried thus far in 2017, according to UN documentation.

According to prisoners’ rights group Addameer, 6,128 Palestinians were detained by Israel as of July, 320 of whom were children. The group has estimated that some 40 percent of Palestinian men will be detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
