HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Thursday arrested three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine during a dawn raid on Sair in Hebron, locals said.

Witnesses told Ma'an that soldiers, accompanied by dogs, ransacked several homes before detaining Mohammad Sharif Abdul Ghaffar Jaradat, 23, Khalil Rateb Jabarin and Rami Shalalda.

Troops forced the detainees' families to wait outside their homes for two hours during the raid and smashed the shopfront of a supermarket belonging to Zidan Jaradat, witnesses said.

Solders prevented worshipers from attending dawn prayers and blocked roads, they added.

Locals said five brothers were handed summons to report to Israeli intelligence officers. They were identified as Hassan, Arafat, Shadi, Sari and Hairan Jaradat.

Also in Hebron, Israeli forces detained Motasem Salem al-Hirbawi and Abdullah Ahmad al-Zghayer after ransacking their homes, locals said.

An Israeli military spokeswman did not return a call seeking comment on the raid in Sair.

Earlier Thursday, an army spokeswoman said nine people were detained across the West Bank overnight including one person in Hebron.

Eight others were detained in the Jenin, Bethlehem and Qalqiliya districts, she said.
