BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained 11 Palestinians during overnight raids across the occupied West Bank Tuesday, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

In the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, PPS reported that Yousif Muhammad al-Allami and Muhammad Abu Turki.

An Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that one Palestinian was detained from Hebron city, while one was detained from the Hebron-area village of Beit Ummar.

According to PPS, five Palestinians were detained from the central occupied West Bank Ramallah and al-Bireh district. The five were identified as Muhammad Ziad Barakat, Adham Amireh, Jad Rajha, Tharaa Ali al-Barghouthi, 19, and Tareq Rajab Nimr, 19.

The Israeli army spokesperson confirmed to Ma’an one detention from the Ramallah-area al-Amari refugee camp.

In the northern occupied West Bank district of Jenin, four Palestinians were detained from the Qabatiya town. They were identified by PPS as Ahmad Kamil, Khalid al-Sahu, Anas Kamil and Walid Kamil.

The Israeli army spokesperson confirmed four detentions from Qabatiya.

Separately, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian youth during clashes that erupted in the al-Ram town north of Jerusalem late Monday night.

Clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces in several streets and neighborhoods across the town, with locals reporting that Israeli forces use live ammunition, rubber-coated steel-bullets, and tear gas against the youth.

Witnesses added that the youth who was detained was assaulted and taken to an unknown location.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, 7,000 Palestinians were held in Israeli prisons as of October, including some 400 children. The organization estimates that 40 percent of Palestinian men have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
