BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 13 Palestinians during overnight raids across the occupied West Bank between Saturday and Sunday, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), at least three Palestinians were detained in the northern West Bank district of Jenin, identified as Tariq Uweis, Muhammad Zeidan al-Jada, and Akram Malalha.

Local sources said that Uweis was detained in the Jenin refugee camp, while also reporting that Israeli forces detained five unidentified members of the al-Hajj Said family in the Jenin-district village of Bartaa.

Meanwhile, an Israeli army spokesperson told Ma’an that one Palestinian was detained in the city of Jenin, one in the Jenin refugee camp, and another in the village of Burqin.

In the district of Nablus, PPS reported that Israeli forces detained Muhammad Jamil Khatatba in the village of Beit Furik.

In the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, PPS stated that Israeli forces detained Umran Yousif Najajra and Abd al-Karim Muhammad Shakarna in the village of Nahhalin.

The Israeli army confirmed two detentions in Nahhalin.

In the Hebron district, Israeli forces raided the al-Fawwar refugee camp and detained activist and former prisoner Muhammad Ahmad al-Najjar, according to PPS.

The army spokesperson confirmed a detention in al-Fawwar, and added that an alleged Hamas operative was detained in the Hebron-area village of Khursa.

Israeli forces conduct night raids across the occupied Palestinian territory on a near-daily basis. According to UN documentation, the Israeli army carried out 185 military detention raids between Nov. 1 and Nov. 14.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, 7,000 Palestinians were held in Israeli prisons as of October. The organization estimates that 40 percent of Palestinian men have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.
