BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 26 Palestinians, including three minors, during predawn raids on Wednesday across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to Israeli and Palestinian sources.
In occupied East Jerusalem, nine Palestinians were detained, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), which identified tham as Samir Araj, Seif Abu Jumaa, 21, Amir Abu Jumaa, 17, Yousef Abu Jumaa, 17, and Kamal Alami, 20, while another four Palestinians who work for the rehabilitation committee of the Islamic Endowment (Waqf), identified as Bahaa Abu Sbeih, Issa Salhab, Bassam al-Hallaq, and Saed Abu Sneina were also detained.
In the central West Bank district of Ramallah, PPS reported that four Palestinians were detained in raids, identifying them as Omar Hassan Arhemi, 22, Muhammad Zuheir Khalil, 23, Israr Hatim Maarouf, and Ahmad Ali al-Nasr.
An Israeli army spokesperson reported three detentions in Ramallah, with one Palestinian detainee taken from the village of Kafr Nima for being an alleged Hamas operative, one from Ein Qiniya, and another from Beit Rima, who was accused of belonging to the Islamic bloc, the Hamas-affiliated student group.
According to an Israeli army spokesperson, Israeli forces also detained five Palestinians in the northern district of Jenin, reporting that one Palestinian was detained in the village of Qabatiya, two in Muthalath al-Shuhada, one in Silat al-Harithiya for being an alleged Islamic Jihad operative, and one in al-Yamun.
PPS identified three of the detainees as Iyad Abd al-Rahman Abu al-Rub, Salah al-Din al-Sheikh Muhammad, and Yousif Abd al-Malik al-Saadi.
Meanwhile, in the Tulkarem district, Israeli forces detained three siblings identified by PPS as Majdi, Qatiya, and Maha Ubeid. The three are siblings of a wanted Palestinian, Malik Ubeid, who has seen several of his family members detained by Israeli forces in recent days.
Israeli forces also carried out raids in the southern district of Hebron, according to an Israeli army spokesperson, with four Palestinians being detained: two from the village of Beit Ummar, one in al-Arrub refugee camp, and another in the city of Hebron for being an alleged Hamas operative.
PPS identified two of the detainees as Hamza Fayed al-Atrash,19, and Hamza Imad Khalil, 16.
Israeli forces also detained Abd al-Rahman al-Bnna Aseida from the village of Tell in Nablus. An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that one Palestinian was detained from the village for being an alleged Hamas operative.
Israeli forces conducted a weekly average of 81 search and detention operations across the occupied territory since the beginning of the year, with 135 raids being carried just in the previous week, according to UN documentation.
As of May, 7,000 Palestinians were being held in Israeli prisons according to prisoners' rights group Addameer.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers have kidnapped, on Tuesday evening at dawn Wednesday, ten Palestinians, including children, in al-Eesawiyya and Silwan towns, and the at-Tour village, in occupied East Jerusalem.
The PPS stated that the soldiers invaded, on Wednesday at dawn, the al-‘Eesawiyya town, searched several homes, and kidnapped a child, identified as Anas Mafarja.
It added that the soldiers also kidnapped Saifeddin Maher Abu Jom’a, 21, his brother Amir, 18, Kamal Mohammad Alami, 20, and Yousef Issa Abu Jom’a, 17.
The soldiers also kidnapped a former political prisoner, identified as Salem al-A’raj, after stopping him at a military roadblock, closing the main entrance of the Shu’fat refugee camp.
On Tuesday evening, the soldiers kidnapped four Palestinians in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, in Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, after searching their homes.
They have been identified as Montaser Abu Naab, 14, Majdi Mustafa Abu Naab, 17, Mohammad Matar, 19, and Sabri Abdul-Hafith Ibrahim, 21.
Furthermore, the Jenin office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers kidnapped, on Wednesday at dawn, three Palestinians from Jenin and Nablus.
In related news, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that the soldiers kidnapped three siblings in Far’un village, south of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem.
In addition, the soldiers kidnapped three Palestinians, including a child, in different parts of the southern West Bank district of Hebron, seriously wounded one resident and injured another near Tubas.
