JERUSALEM, November 2, 2011 (WAFA) –Jerusalem municipality’s Crews accompanied by Israeli police and soldiers attacked Wednesday a sandwiches stall owner, the stall and arrested his sons before Damascus gate, one of the main gates of the old city of Jerusalem, according to witnesses.

Witnesses said that the crew attacked the owner of the stall, Mahmoud Miswadeh and arrested his two sons, Asem and Samer, after destroying the stall and damaging its contents.

Stalls’ owners in the area said that they are subjected to a racist campaign lead by a policeman from Kiryat Arba settlement, Ma’er Ruther, who is affiliated to the occupation’s municipality, despite the fact that most stalls are licensed by the municipality.

Miswadeh’s stall has been in the area for many years, but the municipality, in its effort attempting to change the nature and identity of the area, started a campaign to remove stalls.

The latest stall removed belonged to Maslmeh family, despite the fact that it has been there for nearly 30 years.
