JERICHO (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained at least 15 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank overnight Sunday and into Monday morning, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.
In the eastern occupied West Bank district of Jericho's Jiftlik village, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society said Israeli forces detained at least five people during overnight raids.
The society identified the five as Khalil Abd al-Aziz Labbad al-Atawnah, 22, Omar Suliman Abu Rizq, 26, Yasser Ismail Shehadah Abu Hatab, 22, and brothers Mustafa, 30, and Hamza Khalil Abu Sleem, 21.
An Israeli army spokesperson did not confirm any detentions in the district of Jericho.
An Israeli army spokesperson said one Palestinian was detained in Qalqiliya.
Locals identified the man as Imad Zuheir Suboh, 32.
In the Bethlehem district, an Israeli army spokesperson said another two detentions were reported.
Locals only identified one detainee from the district, Muhammad Abd al-Latif Direiya,18, from the village of Beit Fajjar south of Bethlehem city.
In the southern occupied West Bank district of Hebron, an Israeli army spokesperson said Israeli forces detained six Palestinians.
Locals identified three of the six as Munjid al-Sharif, Muhammad Ahmad Adi, 57, and Odai Mamon al-Sharabati, 20.
Locals added that before al-Sharabati's detention, Israeli forces used explosives to enter the man's house with dogs and ransacked the home.
Israeli forces also summoned Hebron resident Adi Osaid, 25, to meet with Israeli intelligence next week. Osaid is a former prisoner of Israel who served seven years in Israeli jails.
In the Salfit district, locals said Israeli forces detained 17-year-old Ehab Hassan.
Israeli forces enter Palestinian communities during overnight arrest raids on a daily basis.
Prisoners' rights group Addameer estimates that around 40 percent of the Palestinian male population in the West Bank and East Jerusalem has been detained at some point.
