HEBRON (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained a Palestinian teenager from Beit Ummar on Monday, after breaking into the teen's family home earlier that day and issuing a warrant, a local monitor told Ma'an.
Muhammad Ayyad Awad, a monitor with the Beit Ummar Committee Against Israel's Settlements and Separation Wall, said Israeli forces took 19-year-old Rabi Jawad Awad into custody after he arrived at an Israeli intelligence office in Gush Etzion for questioning.
The spokesperson said the young man came in after Israeli forces raided an area of Beit Ummar earlier that day, and issued a warrant for the teen's detention to his father.
An Israeli army spokesperson did not immediately respond for comment.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been detained by Israeli forces since a wave of popular unrest swept the occupied Palestinian territory at the beginning of October.
