BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian woman was shot and injured after an alleged stabbing attempt in Afula on Friday, Israel's army and police said.
Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said a Palestinian woman attempted to stab an Israeli security guard and was shot at the scene.
Israeli media said she was seriously injured.
A video of the incident shows the Palestinian woman surrounded by Israeli security forces at the bus station and appearing to hold an object in her hand.
Amid shouting, the security forces open fire multiple times at the woman, who drops to the ground. She appears to pose no threat to the heavily armed forces when she was shot.
The latest incident comes amid widespread unrest over the past few weeks, with an upsurge in demonstrations and stabbing attacks since Oct. 1 which have seen four Israelis, including two settlers, killed.
On Friday, Muhammad Fares Abdullah al-Jaabari, 19, was shot dead in the illegal Kiryat Arba settlement near Hebron after stabbing a border police officer.
Two Palestinian teenagers have been shot dead at demonstrations, including a 13-year-old boy, while three Palestinian suspects in stabbing attacks have been shot dead at the scene since last week.
Wissam Faraj, 20, was shot dead in Shufat refugee camp clashes late Thursday.
Fadi Alloun, 19, from al-Issawiya village in East Jerusalem, was also shot dead by Israeli forces after an alleged stabbing attack on Saturday, although a video of his death showed he posed no threat at the time and was running away from a group of Israelis.
