JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces arrested 20 Palestinians in detention raids across the West Bank and in neighborhoods in East Jerusalem early Monday.
Israeli forces detained three youths from the Silwad town in eastern Ramallah, one from Jenin and another from the Beit Awwa town west of Hebron.
Six Palestinians, including three minors under 15 years old, were arrested from the Bethlehem district early Monday, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society said.
They said the three minors were arrested from Husan village in western Bethlehem, and included Ismail Muhammad Ismail Zauol, Muhammad Mahmoud Zauol and Yazan Badr Shusha.
Israeli forces also detained brothers Omar and Saed Ibahim Abu Sabha from Jabaa in western Bethlehem, and another Palestinian from the al-Duha area, identified as Muhammad Mutasem Abdullah al-Khatib.
Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, Addameer Prisoners' Support and Human Rights Association said that Israeli forces detained Anas Ahmad Obeid, Yazan Muheisen, Moussa Obeid and Muhammad Kayid Mahmoud from al-Issawiya village.
They also said that two minors were detained from Shufat, Muhammad Ahmad Abu Khdeir and Muhammad Nidal Abu Khdeir.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan said that Israeli forces also detained minors Muhammad al-Qaq and Murad Furukh from the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood.
Director of the Prisoners and Detainees' Families Committee Amjad Abu Asab said that during the al-Issawiya raid, Israeli forces "savagely" raided homes, smashing their doors and searching them, and assaulted residents.
The Israeli police detained Jawad Barqan, 38, from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem City after raiding his home late Sunday.
Witnesses said that Israeli police and intelligence raided and searched several homes in the building, and also stopped and searched a number of cars and youths passing through the area.
Israeli forces routinely detain Palestinians in the occupied territories, usually on the pretext of security questioning.
Prisoner rights group Addameer has estimated that around 40 percent of the male Palestinian population has been detained by Israeli forces.

At least eighteen Palestinians, including many children, have been kidnapped, on Monday at dawn, by Israeli soldiers who invaded different parts of the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.
The Detainees’ Parents Committee in Jerusalem said the soldiers kidnapped eight Palestinians, including four children, in different parts of the occupied city.
The Committee’s head, Amjad Abu ‘Asab, said the kidnapped have been identified as Anas Ahmad ‘Obeid, Mousa ‘Obeid, Yazan Mheisin, and Mohammad Kayed Mahmoud.
Abu ‘Asab added that the soldiers also kidnapped Mohammad Ahmad Abu Khdeir, 16, and Nidal Abu Khdeir, 16, both from their homes in Shu’fat neighborhood, in addition to Mohammad al-Qaq, 15, and Murad Froukh, 15, from Silwan town.
In addition, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) has reported that the soldiers invaded Husan town, near Bethlehem, and kidnapped two Palestinians identified as Ismael Mohammad Za’oul and Yazan Bader Shousha.
The PPS added that the soldiers also invaded al-Jab’a nearby town, and kidnapped two brothers identified as ‘Omar and Saed Ibrahim Abu Sabha, while resident Mohammad Mo’tasem Khatib was kidnapped in Doha town.
Also, several armored military vehicles invaded Silwad town, in the central West Bank district of Ramallah, searched homes, and kidnapped three Palestinians identified as Amir Da’aas Hammad, 19, No’man Saleh Hamed, 19, and Ahmad Abu Zeina, 31.
Furthermore, soldiers stormed homes in Jenin city, in the northern part of the West Bank, and kidnapped Mohammad Jamal ‘Abahra, 22, while resident Mohammad ‘Awwad, also from Jenin, was kidnapped in the Salem military court while attending a hearing for a detained family member.
