HEBRON (Ma'an) -- A group of Israeli settlers assaulted a Palestinian child who was playing in the snow in Tel Irmeideh area in central Hebron Saturday afternoon.

Imad Abu Shamsiyeh, the boy's father, told Ma'an that a group of Israeli settlers beat his 10-year-old son Saleh while he was playing in the snow in their neighborhood.

Abu Shamsiyeh added that the boy was hit with a sharp object which gave him bruises.

Saleh was taken to the Hebron Governmental Hospital for treatment where his injuries were reported as moderate.

Abu Shamsiyeh said that the assault happened near a checkpoint as soldiers watched and did not attempt to help the boy or prevent the assault.
