HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians from different areas in Hebron and assaulted two teenagers during a detention raid in the al-Arrub refugee camp early Tuesday, locals reported.
They told Ma'an that Israeli forces detained two teenagers and a youth from Hebron. They were identified as Muhammad Youssef al-Rajabi, Baraa Muhammad al-Fakhuri, 16, and Ahmad Abd al-Rahman Abu Shamsiyeh, 24.
Israeli forces also raided the al-Arrub refugee camp around 1 a.m. and detained Wadee Salameh al-Jundi, 15, and assaulted his brothers, Islam, 13, and Jihad, 17.
Israeli forces also detained Shihab Kamal al-Jundi, 21, from al-Arrub camp.
In Beit Ummar, Israeli forces detained Mahdi Ali Badawi Ikhleil, 21, after raiding and searching his home.
Muhammad Awad, spokesman of a local popular committee, said that Israeli forces also raided the home of prisoner Ahmad Khader Abu Hashem for the second time in a week and searched the home using police dogs.
Clashes erupted in the area as Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets, stun grenades and tear-gas canisters.
Several Palestinians suffered severe tear-gas inhalation during clashes in the town.
Israeli forces detained Shihdeh Walid Amro, 27, from his home in Dura.
Soldiers also detained Mahmoud Hamdi Halayqa after raiding his home in the al-Shuyukh village.
Ramallah raid
Also Tuesday, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian teenager after raiding and searching his home in the Beit Rima town in northern Ramallah.
The teenager was identified as Suhaib Naser al-Rimawi, 15.
Israeli soldiers also assaulted and injured a Palestinian elderly identified as Taher Yaqub al-Rimawi, 80, after raiding his home in the town as well.
An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed that arrest and 10 others overnight.
She said five of the raids targeted "known Hamas operatives."
The rest are "suspected of involvement in illegal activity," she said.
However, the spokeswoman only confirmed one arrest in the Hebron area. The rest were in the Tulkarem, Nablus and Ramallah areas, she said.
