Description
JERUSALEM (Ma'an) – Israeli forces stormed the East Jerusalem town of al-Isawiya before dawn Tuesday and demolished a Palestinian house allegedly being built without a license from the Israeli municipality of Jerusalem.
Member of a local monitoring committee in the town told Ma'an that large numbers of Israeli troops and police officers stormed the al-Thahra neighborhood in the center of al-Isawiya at 4 a.m. and deployed in alleys as three bulldozers started to demolish a house under construction belonging to Osama Ribhi Dari.
Muhammad Abu al-Hummus added that the owner started to build the house which measures 200 square meters 10 months ago before the Jerusalem municipality ordered him to stop work.
Abu al-Hummus added that Israeli troops who deployed heavily in the town provoked locals on their way to work in the morning. As a result, young men clashed with the soldiers who fired tear-gas canisters and rubber-coated bullets in all directions injuring a lady with a rubber-coated bullet.
The Israeli soldiers also apprehended a young man after beating him violently, added Abu al-Hummus.
