JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- The civil court of Ashdod extended the detention of Afif al-Jarrah for seven days starting Friday, a Palestinian Prisoner's Society lawyer said Friday.

The lawyer said that al-Jarrah, who was detained during the offensive on the Gaza Strip, is prevented from seeing his lawyer until Monday.

Israeli authorities released al-Jarrah's brother Imad on Thursday, who was detained with Afif from Um al-Nasr village at the beginning of the ground offensive on Gaza Strip.
