JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a 14-year-old boy after raiding his house in an East Jerusalem neighborhood overnight, the boy's mother said Wednesday.
She told Ma'an that in the early morning hours, Israeli forces surrounded her house in the al-Bustan area of the Silwan neighborhood and detained her son, Musallem Musa Odeh.
This is the 14th time Israeli forces have detained Musallem, his mother said.
Meanwhile, locals told Ma'an another young man was detained from Al-Aqsa compound, identifying him as Muhammad Odeh.
An Israeli police spokesman did not answer calls seeking comment.
According to report by the UN Children's Fund, Israeli forces arrested, interrogated, and prosecuted around 7,000 children between the ages of 12 and 17 from 2003 to 2013.
"An average of two children each day" were arrested over the course of the decade, the UNICEF report said.
