[Thursday, April 24, 2014] Israeli soldiers invaded Deir Samet village, southwest of the southern West Bank West Bank city of Hebron and kidnapped eight Palestinians, two Palestinians in Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah, and one near Tubas.
The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that several armored Israeli military vehicles invaded Deir Samet village, searched several homes after breaking into them, and kidnapped eight residents, including a father and two of his sons.
The kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Monir Mohammad al-Awawda, 50, his two sons Azzam, 22, and Rafat, 24, Mohammad Abu Harbeed, 20, Wa’ed Hasan al-Hroub, 35, Daoud Abdul-Wahab Abdul-Aziz, 32, Mousa Ali al-Hroub, 32, and Jihad Ismael Sharawna, 30.
WAFA said that the army violently searched several homes belonging to members of Abu Zneid, Sharawna, al-Hroub and ash-Sharha families, and handed residents Jihad al-Hroub, former political prisoner Eyad Mahmoud al-Hroub, his brother Raed, and Ala’ Nidal al-Hroub, military warrants ordering them to head to the Etzion military base for interrogation.
In Ramallah, the army invaded Nabi Saleh village, and kidnapped two Palestinians identified as Rayyan Othman Tamimi, 19, and Mohammad Wajih Tamimi, 19. Mohammad is a former political prisoner who was only released two days ago.
Local sources said the soldiers assaulted the two kidnapped young men, and fired concussion grenades at their homes. Soldiers also attacked family members inflicting various injuries.
Following the attacks, local youth hurled stones and empty bottles at the invading soldiers, while the army fired gas bombs, concussion grenades and rubber-coated metal bullets.
Nabi Saleh is subject to repeated Israeli military invasions and assaults due to its ongoing nonviolent activities against the Israeli Apartheid Wall and settlements, which are built on Palestinian lands, and depriving the villagers access to their own orchards and lands.
Furthermore, several Israeli military vehicles invaded the al-Far’a refugee camp, in the central West Bank district of Tubas, and kidnapped one Palestinian identified as Yousef Siyam, 21.
In related news, several Israeli military vehicles invaded Beit Fajjar town, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and broke into one home.
Local sources said the soldiers invaded the home of Mohammad Ibrahim Thawabta, and searched it, causing property damage.
