Israeli forces impose curfew on 2 Nablus villages

12:00 Mar 5 2014 Huwwara, Beita

Description
NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces imposed a curfew on two northern West Bank villages after Palestinian youths hurled Molotov cocktails at an Israeli settler vehicle earlier in the day, witnesses said.

Witnesses told Ma'an that the Israeli army imposed a curfew on the villages of Huwwara and Beita south of Nablus, forcing all shopkeepers on the main road connecting the two villages to shut down their stores.

Earlier, young Palestinian men hurled four Molotov cocktails at an Israeli settler vehicle as it drove along the road, locals told Ma'an.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said the curfews were related to a "temporary security check post established overnight" in the area.

The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
