An Israeli settler ran over a Palestinian citizen near Yitzhar West Bank settlement junction, Friday, in eastern Nablus.
Al Ray reports that Bassem Omran, the victim’s brother, said that Taiseer Omran, 42, was waiting for a taxi to return to his house in Deir al-Htab village, in east Nablus, when a settler hit him with the car.
Medical sources have reported that Tayseer was seriously injured and transferred to Rafidia governmental hospital, in Nablus.
He sustained several fractures in different parts of his body, and underwent a surgery in the thigh.
More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel first began occupying the Palestinian territories of the West Bank, in 1967.
The United Nations and most countries regard the Israeli settlements as illegal, because the territories were captured by Israel in the 1967 war and are hence subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids construction on occupied lands.
