Description
SALFIT/HEBRON, October 3, 2013 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Thursday attacked a Palestinian farmer in a village in the north of the West Bank and stole his olive crops, while other settlers uprooted more than 40 olive tree seedlings in the south of the West Bank.

In the north of West Bank, settlers attacked Sami Raddad in the village of Zawiyeh, in the Salfit district, while he was picking his olive trees and stool his crops, said Raddad.

He said he and his wife were picking olives from his land located near the illegal settlement of Alkana when a group of settlers attacked them and forced him to leave their land.

The settlers then stole his crops and warned them not to return to the land again.

In the south of the West Bank, settlers from the illegal settlements of Sosiya and Maon uprooted more than 40 olive tree seedlings from the town of Yatta, south of Hebron.

Rateb al-Jbour, a local activist, said the settlers uprooted the trees from a plot of land located near the two settlements and owned by Jabr Shtat.

October is the olive picking season in the West Bank. Many families make their annual income from the olive harvest during this season.
