Description
NABLUS (Ma’an) – Israeli settlers on Monday surrounded and confined 10 Palestinian farmers in their fields south of Nablus in the northern West Bank, a Palestinian settlement watchman said.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors settler activities in the northern West Bank, told Ma’an that a number of settlers stopped the farmers between the villages of Aqraba and Yanun south of Nablus.
Amongst the farmers, he said, was Ziad Abu Shanab who owns an olive press. He and nine other farmers were picking olive samples to try to start his olive press and prepare for the season, said Daghlas.
He highlighted that the Palestinian liaison department contacted its Israeli counterparts in an attempt to free the farmers.
