NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces arrested leaders from Hamas, Fatah and Islamic Jihad overnight Tuesday in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, locals said.

Israeli soldiers raided Balata refugee camp in Nablus and arrested local Hamas leader Yasser Badrasawi, 47, ransacking his home and damaging the interior, locals said.

Israeli troops raided another neighborhood in Nablus and arrested local Hamas leader Ziad Imreish, 54, and his son, Nabih, 20.

They also detained Mousa al-Tambour, 47, another local leader of the Islamist group, witnesses said.

In East Jerusalem, Israeli forces detained the Secretary-general of the Fatah Youth movement Thaer Anis, 32, after raiding his home in al-Eizariya.

Israeli forces also detained two teenagers from the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood of East Jerusalem.

Nour Salim Shalabi, 15, and his brother Laith, 12, were taken away in a police vehicle, without being escorted by a family member, as is required when detaining a minor.

In Ramallah, Israeli forces raided al-Jalazun refugee camp and arrested Sheikh Said Nakhla, 55, a senior leader in Islamic Jihad. Nakhla is also a member of the reconciliation committee in charge of inter-party affairs.

He was detained hours after taking part in activities expressing solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and reportedly suffers from diabetes and heart problems.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces detained 30-year-old Abdullah Samir Hurani at Zatara checkpoint south of Nablus, locals said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said five people were arrested in Nablus, two in Qalqiliya and one near Ramallah, without providing details about the political affiliation of the detainees.

Israel's military routinely arrests Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, usually on the pretext of security questioning.
