Tuesday April 23, 2013, the Radio Bethlehem 2000 has reported that Israeli soldiers cut more than 600 Palestinian Olive and Almond trees and removed a tent in Um Neer area, south of Yatta near the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Rateb Al-Jabour, coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Hebron, stated that the soldiers cut the trees and took the wood to an unknown destination.
He added that the trees were planted on nearly 100 Dunams of lands in the same area that has been subject to repeated similar attacks.
Al-Jabour said that the soldiers demolished and removed several tents, demolished wells, and uprooted hundreds of trees in the area over the last two years.
In related news, Israeli settlers uprooted hundreds of saplings and trees near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
According to numerous reports by Israel and Palestinian human rights organizations, Israel uprooted approximately 1.2 Million olive trees since it occupied the rest of Palestine in 1967, and destroyed thousands of Dunams of Palestinian farmlands. More than 465,000 olive trees have been cut or uprooted between 2000 and 2005.
